Mathmateer -- a rocket-building game where parts to the rocket are earned by completing math adventures
DoodleMath -- Good for all elementary students, even the 4th graders. The child takes the Assessment first then works through practice sets matched to his ability level.
SushiMonster -- a Scholastic app for practicing addition and/or multiplication. Very engaging.
Reading/Spelling
Sight Words (by Photo Touch) -- a basic sight word asking the student to touch the printed word that matches the spoken word

Rocket Speller -- similar to Mathmateer in that spelling words correctly earns you opportunities to select parts to build your rocket.

PBS Kids -- Many topics for the children to explore. Most are live, informational articles of very high quality. This site is often chosen for "free time" on the iPad.
